This interesting article misses one important aspect of thinking. Some thoughts results from personal experience and deep thinking processes. Other thoughts are based not on individual thinking but repeat language statements acquired ready-made from peers or authorities. This paper did not differentiate between the two. It seems, “sacred” brain regions identified here might be related to language heuristics, not on thoughts. According to Maimonides, Adam was expelled from paradise for refusing to think and relying on language heuristics instead. Some heuristics might be perceived as extremely valuable; still, they are opposites of “God’s demands”.
